Objectives of Bond Application Packaging

"The job is not over until the paperwork is done." The owner(s) of a construction company spends over 50% of the time not working on the construction sites, but in business matters: general management, financing, marketing, accounting, bidding, bonding, etc. The materials presented by this program should serve as a valuable aid to you and your business and should enhance your company's growth and future development.

The bond application package is prepared by the Program Director and/or Bond Specialist of the CMDP-BGP and a pre-qualifying interview is conducted with the applicant to review the DBE's financial statements, work history, and credit experience. The DBE must show that the firm's principals and key staff know how to run the business effectively and can successfully take on FDOT contracts. The completed package is then referred in a form acceptable to a bond agent participating with the BGP.
